An 18-year-old young man was injured by a stab wound to the neck during a fight that occurred in the early morning of May 3 at the Karibú nightclub, located on the municipal border with Tortosa. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with these events, accused of the assault, and the injured person was transferred to the Hospital de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta.

The attack took place in an entertainment venue that administrations and the property now want to secure with more surveillance and lighting. After the stabbing, Mayor Ivan Garcia met with the sergeant of the Local Police, the chief inspector of the Basic Police Area of the Mossos d'Esquadra in Baix Ebre, Daniel Alegre, and the manager of the Karibú Club nightclub, Albert Gonzalez.

From that meeting came the agreement to allocate more citizen security personnel during weekend nights, with a reinforcement of joint patrols between the Mossos d'Esquadra and municipal police in the vicinity of the venue.

In addition, the city council will improve the lighting in the outdoor area to increase visibility and deter uncivil behavior. The property of the establishment has also made changes within the premises.

The Karibú nightclub will reinforce private security and parking lot lighting

Albert Gonzalez, manager of Karibú Club, participated in the meeting where measures for the interior and exterior of the premises were established. The property will reinforce private security within its facilities and improve the lighting of the parking lot.

The venue is located next to the Tortosa term, a point that requires coordinating the response to an entertainment space frequented at night and its immediate surroundings. The folding knife found after the fight measures 5.5 centimeters.
