The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 42-year-old man on Friday, May 22, in Tarragona for his alleged involvement in a series of robberies in community storage rooms in the Ponent neighborhood. The arrested individual is attributed with one robbery with force, one robbery with violence, and a minor offense of assault.
The investigation also places him behind fifteen other robberies with force, with a total loot of approximately 14,500 euros. The case took a turn on May 4 in Campclar, when a resident surprised the suspect with a cart full of stolen items and ended up slightly injured during the struggle, but the man still managed to escape at that time.

The last investigated episode occurred in a storage room in Campclar. There, a resident discovered the suspect as he was trying to leave with several stolen items.
During the struggle to escape, both fell to the ground and the resident suffered minor injuries. The alleged thief fled, leaving behind part of the loot.
A second individual was also hidden in the area, who managed to escape. The Mossos are keeping the investigation open to identify him and clarify his possible involvement in the events.
The Mossos link fourteen robberies to two nights on Riu Ter street
The investigations by the Unitat d'Investigació of the Tarragona police station link the suspects to fourteen robberies committed between the night of April 21 and the early morning of April 23 in storage rooms on Riu Ter street, in Campclar.
To this series, another robbery on Baró Pierre de Coubertin street, in the La Floresta neighborhood, is added. Collectively, the police attribute to the detainee and his companion an activity concentrated in community buildings in Ponent.
According to the investigation, the modus operandi consisted of forcing entrance doors or interior accesses of the buildings and then breaking into the storage rooms. The perpetrators sought items that were easy to transport or resell.
The arrested man had 48 previous police records for offenses, mostly against property. After his arrest, he was brought before the duty investigating court of Tarragona on Saturday.
The court ordered his admission to the Tarragona prison on Saturday, after being brought before the court for these robberies in Campclar and La Floresta.
