An accident between a truck and a car has forced the closure of the two lanes of the AP 7 in the Tarragona direction this Thursday afternoon at kilometer 271.7, within the municipal area of Mont roig del Camp. The rear-end collision has left three people with minor injuries and has caused traffic jams of almost 4 kilometers.
The alert to the emergency phone 112 was received at 17:20 hours. From that moment, personnel from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, and Bombers have been mobilized to attend to the incident and secure the area.
Two lanes blocked during the afternoon
The accident has fully affected traffic in one of the sections with most traffic in southern Catalonia. The impact between the truck and the car has completely blocked the two lanes in the Tarragona direction, which has complicated the passage of vehicles for several hours.
As a consequence of the closure, queues of almost 4 kilometers in the northbound direction have accumulated. Emergency services have worked on the roadway while the injured occupants were attended to and the removal of the involved vehicles was managed.
Traffic restored at dusk
The three affected people presented minor injuries. No further data about their condition has emerged. The incident was resolved at 8:00 PM, at which point traffic has been completely restored at this point on the highway.
