The Bombers de la Generalitat have declared completely extinguished a forest vegetation fire declared on Sunday night in Coll del Motarro, in Vandellòs i l"Hospitalet de l"Infant. The fire affected about 900 square meters and caused no injuries or damage to infrastructure.
The alert came in at 8:55 p.m. via the 112 emergency phone. From that moment on, an extinguishing operation was activated with eight crews, among them personnel from the Forest Action Unit, the GRAF, to work in the affected area.
Fire of medium intensity in a forest area
The fire burned with medium intensity, which allowed the teams to stabilize the situation and later complete the extinction. The action focused on stopping the spread of the fire at this point in the municipality of Vandellòs i l"Hospitalet de l"Infant, in an area of forest vegetation.
No injuries were registered during the intervention, and neither are there records of damage to nearby infrastructure, a point that has avoided greater consequences beyond the burned forest surface.
Vigilance after the extinction
Although the fire is already completely extinguished, the teams of Bombers remain on the ground with surveillance tasks. The objective is to prevent possible flare-ups and to ensure that no hot spots remain in the affected perimeter.
The personnel remain in the area to monitor the evolution of the terrain during the next hours and definitively close the incident at this point of the Coll del Motarro.
