Five people have been less seriously injured in a traffic accident between two vehicles that occurred on Saturday afternoon in Tarragona, in the area of Camí de la Coma park, next to Viamed Hospital. The alert for the incident was received around 7:23 PM.
People trapped after the collision
The collision forced the mobilization of Bombers de la Generalitat personnel, who had to intervene to extricate several people who had been trapped inside the cars. The operation focused on this point of the city, next to a very busy area of the healthcare environment.
The Medical Emergencies System attended to five affected, all in less serious condition, and activated five ambulances for this. The health teams provided assistance at the scene before organizing hospital transfers.
Transfers to three hospitals
Two of the injured, both men, were evacuated to Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona. Another two affected were transferred to Sant Joan Hospital in Reus. The fifth injured person was admitted to Santa Tecla Hospital.
The causes of the accident are under investigation. For now, no more data have emerged about the circumstances in which the collision between the two vehicles occurred.
