The Firefighters extinguished this Sunday a fire declared in a dwelling on the third floor of a building on Avenida de Catalunya in Torredembarra. Inside was an elderly person, who could be evacuated before the fire was extinguished.
The alert was received at 14.20 hours and to the scene moved five units of Bombers. Upon their arrival, two neighbors had already rescued the affected person and had accompanied them to their home, where they remained confined.
Three treated for smoke
The Medical Emergencies Service attended to three people for possible smoke inhalation. The affectation, in a first assessment, was mild.
In addition to the older person who was on the burned floor, the two neighbors who participated in the rescue were also assisted. It has not transpired that any of them presented serious injuries.
The kitchen was completely charred
The fire completely burned the kitchen of the dwelling. The rest of the apartment was affected by soot and smoke, although no structural damage to the property has been reported.
Once the fire was extinguished, the Firefighters indicated to the relatives of the affected person that they ventilate the dwelling and that they avoid spending the night inside, awaiting that the conditions were adequate to reoccupy it normally.
