A fire declared this Tuesday afternoon at the company Revlon, BEAUTYGE SL, in El Pla de Santa Maria, forced the preventive evacuation of the entire staff of the plant. There were no injuries and the fire was extinguished without causing additional damage.
The Generalitat Firefighters received the alert at 19:22 hours and mobilized five units to the facilities. When the personnel arrived at the location, the workers were already outside the building.
Fire in an air conditioning unit
Civil Protection reported that the origin of the fire was in an air conditioning unit located inside the company. The fire affected only the climate control equipment and could be controlled and extinguished without spreading to other areas of the plant.
As a precautionary measure, the pre-alert of the chemical emergency plan PLASEQTA was activated to monitor the situation while the intervention was underway.
Return to activity after the review
Once the extinction works were finished and the absence of risks was verified, Civil Protection declared the PLASEQTA pre-alert closed. The company also deactivated its Self-Protection Plan and the workers were able to return to the facilities normally.
