The Raval de Jesús de Reus was closed to traffic minutes before 10:00 AM this Saturday due to a gas leak detected at number 36, in the middle of the central street that starts in Prim square.

It was neighbors and pedestrians who alerted of the incident after noticing a strong smell of gas and calling 112. Following that alert, three units of Firefighters and several patrols of the Urban Guard were mobilized, who closed the affected section and cordoned off the area to work safely.

The leak was in the public road

The incident was located on the street itself. Once the exact point of the leak was detected, the gas supply was cut off to avoid greater risks. Afterwards, the company in charge of distribution was notified so that it would undertake the repair of the fault.

During the intervention, the residents of the building left on their own feet and moved away from the area where the leak was concentrated. Simultaneously, the Firefighters accessed the property to check that there was no dangerous accumulation of gas inside and opened doors to facilitate ventilation.

No injured or intoxicated
