A 22-year-old man died this Monday in Lleida after falling from a third floor through the light well of a building located at number 3 Valentí Almirall street. The event occurred at noon, shortly after a fight with his flatmates.
The victim was evacuated to Hospital Universitari Arnau de Vilanova with polytrauma and a skull fracture. He/She was admitted in critical condition and died late in the afternoon, after spending several hours in brain death.
Two arrested for their alleged connection with the death
The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested two men aged 28 and 24 for their alleged connection with the death of the young man. The investigation remains open and, for now, work is being done to clarify the circumstances in which the fall occurred.
Inside the dwelling, the agents located vestiges of a fight in different rooms. They also found an open window towards the light well, an element that is part of the police checks.
Open investigation
The Catalan police are trying to reconstruct what happened in the apartment before the victim fell into the void. The incident occurred after an argument or fight with her flatmates, although the exact causes of the incident are still under investigation.
The Mossos continue with the proceedings to clarify the sequence of events and determine the possible involvement of the two arrested in a death that has shocked the surroundings of Valentí Almirall street, in the capital of Segrià.
