The works of the Shopping Promenade Lleida shopping center will begin at the end of the month, after a processing that has lasted for ten years. The site survey report, a step prior to the effective start of the work, will be signed between the 27th and 28th.
The project now enters the execution phase with an investment of 145 million euros and an opening set for the end of 2027, despite the opposition maintained by merchant associations throughout the process. The promoters' forecast also includes attracting six million visitors per year.
La Paeria authorized the occupation of public roads to start the work
La Paeria has already granted the license to occupy public roads for the loading and unloading of materials, one of the necessary procedures to start construction. Shopping Promenade Lleida also has the commercial license from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the building permit from the City Council.
With that administrative framework already resolved, the promoters Eurofund and Frey face the construction phase after a decade of procedures. The immediate calendar places the start of the works in the last days of this month.
Construction will be carried out in three phases until the end of 2027
The development of the complex will be divided into three stages. The first will include earthmoving and foundations.
Then will come the erection of structures, along with facades, roofs, and interior fitting. The last phase will focus on the urbanization of the surroundings.
In this final part, the project will incorporate a parking area and 20,000 square meters of green areas will be part of the surroundings. The promoters maintain the forecast of inaugurating the center at the end of 2027.
Eurofund and Frey estimate that Shopping Promenade Lleida will receive six million visitors per year when it becomes operational. The total investment associated with the project amounts to 145 million euros.
