The average widow's pensions remain below 611 euros per month in six municipalities in Lleida. The lowest amounts appear in Senterada, with 467 euros, El Soleràs, with 551, Bellaguarda, with 559, Castell de Mur, with 565, Abella de la Conca, with 588, and Coll de Nargó, with 592.
The gap is greater when compared to income and salary benchmarks. These amounts represent less than half of the Interprofessional Minimum Wage, set at 1,221 gross euros, and also leave the average widow's pension below the poverty threshold in practically all of the Lleida municipalities with available data.
Only 27 municipalities reach 874 euros per month
The available data show a wide difference within the demarcation itself. Only 27 of the 162 municipalities in Lleida with information reach the threshold of 874 euros per month, a figure that takes as a reference the gross median income of 2023 calculated by the Tax Agency.

Only El Pont de Suert exceeds the Catalan threshold for 2025
The comparison with the Catalan indicator leaves an even narrower margin. The Institut d'Estadística de Catalunya sets the poverty threshold for 2025 at 990 euros per month, a figure that in the demarcation is only exceeded by El Pont de Suert, with 1,000 euros.
The regulatory base of the deceased person influences the calculation of the benefit. Social Security generally applies 52% of that base, although the percentage increases to 60% if the beneficiary is over 65 years old and to 75% if they have family responsibilities.
Furthermore, the employment history of many recipients in rural areas affects the final outcome. The historical contribution bases of farm workers and self-employed individuals, with caps by category or without including the contribution in the base, limit the amount of benefits that in municipalities like Senterada, Bellaguarda, or Castell de Mur fall far short of the 990 euros per month.
The highest figure compared to the Catalan threshold corresponds to El Pont de Suert, where the average widow's pension reaches 1,000 euros per month.
