A 33-year-old resident of Guissona, identified as J.M.B.M., died yesterday at 4:30 p.m. in a head-on collision between two cars on the L-310 road, near Sant Martí de la Morana, in the municipality of Torrefeta i Florejacs.
The accident also left one seriously injured, the second driver, who was driving a vehicle with Andorran license plates and who was evacuated by helicopter by the SEM to Vall d'Hebron hospital in Barcelona. The incident brings the number of traffic fatalities this year in the Lleida region to seven, although the figure is two below that recorded in the same period of 2025.
The collision forced the closure of the L-310 for more than three hours
Four patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra, twelve units from the Bombers de la Generalitat, and a helicopter along with ambulances from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, the SEM, participated in the emergency operation.
In addition to the head-on collision, the impact caused a small fire on the roadside. The L-310 road remained closed for more than three hours while rescue teams attended to the victims and removed the vehicles.
Three other accidents left six injured on the Lleida road network
On the same day, one person was also injured in another head-on collision on the C-55, between Riner and Clariana de Cardener. One of the vehicles involved caught fire after the collision.
In the early morning, at 00:34, a road departure on the C-14 in Agramunt caused minor injuries to five people. Added to these accidents was an incident with no injuries on the C-12 near Alfés.
The toll in the Lleida region thus reaches seven road deaths so far this year, compared to the nine recorded in the same period of 2025.
