Hiopos Lleida lost 114 to 87 against Breogán at the Pazo dos Deportes in Lugo and recorded their worst defensive performance since competing as a club. The 114 points conceded surpass the 111 they received against Girona in the 2020-2021 season.

The defeat comes when the team had permanence within reach, but the match postpones it after a night in which the rival made differences from the start. Breogán scored 35 points in the first quarter, the highest figure the Lleida team has conceded in a ten-minute period this season.

Breogán punished the start and left the game almost resolved before halftime

The Galician team opened a gap very early and forced Hiopos Lleida to play catch-up throughout the game. Gerard Encuentra's team also suffered an offensive jam in the second quarter, when it took them five minutes to score their first basket.

At halftime, the score was already 63 to 38. That difference summarized two problems at once: Breogán's ease in finding open shots and the Lleida team's inability to maintain the game's rhythm.

In addition to the punishment on the scoreboard, Breogán completed an unusual offensive production performance. The Lugo team broke its historical assist record with 30 and recorded its second-highest score in a game.

Gerard Encuentra gave Adrià Rodríguez his first start

Encuentra introduced a novelty in the starting five with the presence of Adrià Rodríguez, starting for the first time since joining the team just over a month ago. The change, however, did not alter the development of a game that Hiopos Lleida already had very uphill in the first stretch.

With 114 points received, the team leaves behind its previous negative record, set at 111 conceded against Girona in the 2020-2021 campaign. The defeat also delays permanence, which could be virtual or mathematical next Sunday depending on what happens in their direct rivals' matches.

In Lugo, the context was also marked by the celebration of the recent contract renewal of Breogán's coach, Luis Casimiro, on a night that ended with 30 assists from the Galician team and a final score of 114 to 87.
