Lleida will celebrate the Night of the Museums 2026 this weekend with the nighttime opening of four city facilities coinciding with International Museum Day. The Museu de Lleida, the Centre d'Art La Panera, the Castell de Gardeny, and the Seu Vella will open their facilities with free access to permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The event arrives with a formula already consolidated in Europe, but maintains a clear contrast at the local level. Spaces that usually operate during daytime hours will open their doors to the public at night with a program designed to extend the usual use of museums and monuments beyond conventional visits.

Four Lleida facilities will open at night this weekend

The planned program in the city brings together four centers with different profiles, from a museum to a contemporary art center and two heritage sites like the Castell de Gardeny and the Seu Vella. All of them will participate in the 2026 edition of a day that coincides with the international commemoration dedicated to museums.

During the event, admission will be free to the permanent and temporary exhibitions of the participating venues. The proposal includes free visits to explore the facilities at one's own pace, as well as guided activities.

The program will include family workshops and artistic proposals

Along with the nighttime opening, the facilities have prepared guided tours, family workshops, and various artistic proposals. The combination aims to attract both regular audiences and visitors who do not frequent these spaces during the rest of the year.

Centers with very different functions within Lleida's cultural offerings also participate in the initiative. The Museu de Lleida and La Panera share the spotlight with the Castell de Gardeny and the Seu Vella, extending the activity from the exhibition sphere to the city's historical heritage.

The Night of the Museums is part of an international celebration promoted by ICOM, which coordinates cultural facilities in various parts of Europe. In Lleida, this weekend's edition will include free visits, guided tours, family workshops, and artistic proposals at the Museu de Lleida, the Centre d'Art La Panera, the Castell de Gardeny, and the Seu Vella.
