The Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Lleida police station dismantled this Tuesday a marijuana plantation hidden in an industrial warehouse in the Torrefarrera industrial estate. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested three men aged 51, 42, and 19 for their alleged involvement in the cultivation and sale of the drug.
The operations began last April when agents identified suspicious signs in a facility intended for agricultural storage. They detected the smell of plants and the constant noise of ventilation motors, which triggered surveillance of the premises.
The investigation followed the owner's movements
The investigators focused their efforts on identifying those responsible for the property. Police observation allowed confirming the identity of the warehouse owner after seeing him access the premises on several occasions during the preceding weeks.
The device culminated with the registration of the vessel. Inside, agents seized 61 actively growing marijuana plants. They also found 921 stems in the drying process along with various specific materials for illegal cultivation.
The three arrested are being investigated for a crime against public health. Yesterday they were brought before the Court of Instruction on duty in Lleida.
