The insolvency administrator Luis Alberto Mir has presented the judge with the report on the real state of Lleida CF, a step that will activate the countdown for the club to try to avoid economic collapse. Once the court admits this document, the entity will have fifteen business days to negotiate with its creditors and channel its debt with Social Security and the Tax Agency.

The main tension in the process is that the club claims to have reached an agreement with an investor, but that backing has not yet translated into an effective inflow of money. The businessman, a Frenchman of Spanish origin, was in contact with the administrator on Friday, although for now he has not deposited funds into a company that needs immediate liquidity.

Lleida CF needs 800,000 euros to agree on payments over ten years

The club's total debt is around 5.5 million euros. Of that amount, two million correspond to the Tax Agency, three million to Social Security, and 300,000 euros to suppliers and other creditors.

The first objective is not to cover this entire figure at once. The entity must raise 800,000 euros for the Tax Agency and Social Security to accept a ten-year deferred payment plan, a key condition to sustain the viability plan.

In parallel, Luis Pereira has already contributed 2.5 million euros to Lleida CF and has waived the recovery of that money. This injection has not prevented, however, the club from reaching this point with a millionaire debt and pending an insolvency agreement.

Jordi Cortés trusts the investor despite sporting failure

While the economic future remains uncertain, coach Jordi Cortés publicly defended that the operation can still go ahead. He did so on the +Lleida program on Lleida TV, where he linked that expectation to the appearance of an investing party willing to sign and contribute capital.

"We must be confident that this will move forward. It is a person or a group of people who sign, accept, and put in money. The viability plan should progress" - Jordi Cortés, coach of Lleida CF, on Lleida TV

Cortés also reviewed the season and defined it as a sporting failure. Even so, he highlighted the social work carried out to bring the club closer to the city, in a context where the institutional and economic crisis has weighed on the entire season.

Furthermore, the coach expressed his willingness to remain at the helm of the team in Lliga Elit. His statement comes as the club awaits the judicial admission of the report presented by Luis Alberto Mir and the formal opening of those fifteen business days to try to order a debt of 5.5 million euros.

The distribution of that debt fixes 300,000 euros pending with suppliers and other creditors, in addition to the two million with the Tax Agency and the three million with Social Security.
