Castellnou de Seana will have its new school ready in August, with the aim that students start the next academic year in the new facilities. The center took a first visible step this Thursday with the arrival of the first two prefabricated modules.
The main difference between the current building and the one that will come into service in the coming months is in capacity. The municipality currently has 61 students enrolled in the old facilities and the new school will be able to accommodate 80, in a context of demographic growth.
The work will be finished in August and two of the four modules arrived today
The new building will consist of four prefabricated modules. The classrooms and the dining room will be distributed in them, and they will be integrated into the same educational complex.
This Thursday's delivery corresponds to half of the planned structure. The plan is to complete the assembly during the coming weeks so that the equipment can become operational at the beginning of the school year.
The new school will increase capacity to 80 places
The increase in size responds to the evolution of the municipality. 61 students study in the current facilities and the new school will have space for 80, so that the center will gain 19 places compared to the current building.
In addition to the teaching space, the complex will include a green area and sports facilities intended for students' leisure time after the school day ends.
If the planned schedule is met, the four prefabricated modules will be ready in August to receive the 61 students already enrolled and accommodate new students up to a maximum of 80 places.
