The Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida has moved the Ophthalmology outpatient clinics to the ground floor of the main building, next to the lobby, in a reorganization that came into service with its official inauguration yesterday.
The change concentrates attention in a more accessible point of the center and expands the care spaces from 19 to 29. At the same time, it frees up the old location for a complete renovation that will allow for the installation of a new digestive endoscopy area there.
The hospital expanded care spaces from 19 to 29
The new Ophthalmology area gains patient care surface area and reorganizes internal circulation to eliminate shared spaces that the service had in its previous location. The objective is to concentrate activity in differentiated areas closer to the main entrance.
In addition, the device incorporates exclusive areas for visual acuity tests and a specific area for intravitreal injections, two of the usual activities of the specialty.
In the communication disseminated on the occasion of the opening, the hospital maintains that the benefits translate into fewer movements within the center, in addition to greater comfort and more agile attention for users.
Patients will receive an SMS 24 hours before their appointment
To avoid incidents in the first days of the move, the center will notify patients with a text message sent 24 hours before the visit. The SMS will inform about the change of location of the consultations.
The reorganization affects one of the hospital's outpatient circuits and seeks to simplify users' arrival at the new clinic, now located next to the main building's lobby.
After the move of Ophthalmology, the old space occupied by the service on the ground floor of outpatient clinics will be completely remodeled to house a new digestive endoscopy area.
