The Tàrrega Used Vehicle Market closed its thirteenth edition with 80 sales registered one hour before the closing and with the forecast of reaching 100 operations in the coming days. The figure would match last year's results in an edition marked by lower public attendance.
The behavior of the buyers provided the contrast. The heat reduced the number of visitors to the venue, but those who attended did so with the intention of buying, maintaining a similar pace of operations to the previous edition.
Heat reduced visitors but did not stop 80 sales before closing
The City Council's Department of Economic Promotion attributed the drop in public attendance during the event to the heat. Even so, sales were concentrated in very specific periods of the weekend and allowed commercial forecasts to be maintained.
Friday registered operations throughout the day. Saturday morning and Sunday late afternoon completed the busiest moments between exhibitors and buyers.
Fourteen dealerships participated in this edition, 11 of which were from Tàrrega and three from other municipalities in Lleida. Together they exhibited 400 vehicles in a fairground of more than 4,000 square meters.
The offer included second-hand cars with prices ranging from 2,800 to 68,500 euros. Among the available models were also electric and hybrid vehicles.

The market thus maintained a wide offer for very different buyer profiles, from entry-level models to higher price ranges. The council will also raffle a prize of 2,000 euros among those who formalized a purchase during the event.
That raffle will mark the next milestone of the fair, because afterwards the City Council will release the final sales report and the total volume of business generated in this edition.
In parallel, the Lleida Automotive Business Association held its annual meeting at the Palau de Margalef in Torregrossa. Several challenges facing the sector were addressed there, including the need to give more visibility to women in the automotive field.
"The green transition must be carried out in a fair and possible way, with the necessary investments and infrastructure so that no one is left behind" - Joan Talarn, president of the Diputació de Lleida
Joan Talarn made that reflection during the conference organized by the employers' association of the sector. The meeting brought together the business community of the Lleida automotive industry in Torregrossa, in parallel to the commercial closure of the Tàrrega market.
The Tàrrega fairgrounds occupied more than 4,000 square meters and brought together 14 dealerships, 11 from the city and three from other municipalities in Lleida.
