Lleida will host on May 29 and 30 the tenth edition of El Segre de Negre, the crime and noir novel festival organized by Pagès Editors and the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs. The event will bring together round tables, literary routes, family activities, contests, and meetings with authors in an edition marked by the tenth anniversary.

The anniversary arrives with a double local emphasis. The festival celebrates ten years of vindicating a genre associated with marginality and crime, and it does so from the city's cultural institutions and with the territory as the central theme, from the Museu Morera to the Escola d'Art Municipal Leandre Cristòfol.

The festival will celebrate its ten years with an inauguration at the Museu Morera

The inauguration of this edition will take place at the Museu Morera, where a literary party is planned to commemorate the event's first decade. Pilar Bosch, councilor for Culture of the Lleida City Council, highlighted the choice of this venue within a program that once again places the city at the center of the festival.

Bosch also recalled that many landscapes and stories from the region have inspired outstanding works. Eulàlia Pagès, director of Pagès Editors, one of the entities promoting the festival along with the IEI, also participated in the official presentation.

Andreu Vàzquez, director of the IEI, stated that the event is fully consolidated within Catalan literature and, especially, within Lleida's production. He also affirmed that the festival has given voice over the years to different expressions and marginalities typical of the crime genre.

Pep Coll will receive the Trajectòria Award and Clàudia Bernal designs the poster

The program for this tenth edition will include round tables, literary routes, family activities, and contests such as Micronegre and Instanegre, as well as meetings with authors. The organization thus maintains a format that combines literary conversation with proposals open to different audiences.

Among the notable names of this edition is Pep Coll, who will receive the Premi Trajectòria El Segre de Negre for his contribution to Catalan literature and for his defense of the territory and language of the Pyrenees.

Students from the Escola d'Art Municipal Leandre Cristòfol will also participate. The commemorative poster for this year, created by student Clàudia Bernal, comes from this center.
