The Paeria de Lleida has started this Monday the pavement improvement works on Onze de Setembre avenue, in the section between Europa square and Eugeni d'Ors street. The work has begun on the lane in the direction of Rovira Roure, where machines have started milling the old asphalt.
The intervention affects one of the axes with the most traffic in the area and forces the closure of that sector until May 29, provisionally. Despite the closure, access to the CAP must be maintained during the works with a specific passage for ambulances from the opposite direction.
The closure diverts traffic through Passeig de Ronda until May 29
Since the start of the works, the alternative route for vehicles has been set along Passeig de Ronda. The restriction is concentrated in the section of Onze de Setembre avenue where the old pavement is being removed for its subsequent renovation.
In addition, access to Onze de Setembre avenue is restricted from Marimunt avenue and Valls d'Andorra street. The Paeria maintains, however, access to the parking lots for residents of the area.
During the execution of the work, ambulances will be able to access the CAP provisionally using the opposite direction of traffic. This adjustment seeks to make the works compatible with the entry of sanitary vehicles to the facility.
Begoña Iglesias places the work within the contract for roads with more traffic
The deputy mayor for Urban Planning, Begoña Iglesias, has framed the action within the municipal contract aimed at improving streets with high traffic intensity. Onze de Setembre avenue is part of that package of interventions planned by the Paeria.
The milling started this Monday is the first visible phase of an action focused on renovating the surface on one of the usual accesses to Rovira Roure. The municipal calendar places the expected end of the closure of this sector on May 29.
Begoña Iglesias, deputy mayor for Urban Planning, indicated that the action is part of the contract aimed at improving roads with special traffic intensity.
