Lleida celebrates today the big day of Sant Anastasi with a day that concentrates the central acts of the main festival between the Cathedral, the Eix Comercial, rambla Ferran and the Camps Elisis. The capital of Segrià has distributed the main program between the institutional and religious morning, the popular afternoon and the night closing with fireworks.
The agenda leaves an unusual image in the city center. The Battle of Flowers will return to Rambla Ferran at 6:00 PM after the reopening of the road, once the road renovation work is finished, thus recovering one of the most visible spaces of the celebration.
The Cathedral hosts the service and the Eix Comercial brings together tomorrow's events
The first block of activities will begin at 11:00 with the religious service in the Cathedral, presided over by the bishop of Lleida, Daniel Palau. Afterwards, the program includes the procession and the floral offering at 12:15.
Fifteen minutes after the religious ceremony, the Matinals de Seguici will begin. The event is scheduled for 11:15 AM and will take place in the Eix Comercial, where the Ball de Diables will also be held at 12:00 PM.
During the morning, eight cultural facilities in the city will also open between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Among the spaces that can be visited are the Castell de Gardeny, the Museu Morera, the Museu de Lleida, the Turó de la Seu Vella, La Panera, the Museu de l'Aigua, and the Roda Roda museum.
Ferran Rambla recovers the Battle of Flowers and the Champs Elysées close the afternoon
Already in the afternoon, the Battle of Flowers will begin at 6:00 PM on Ferran Avenue. The event returns to this point in the center of Lleida after the reopening of the avenue, affected in recent months by road repair work.
At 7:00 PM, Sant Joan square will host a popular dance. Half an hour later, Paeria square will be the setting for a new sardana session within the festive program.
The Champs Elysées will host the final stretch of the day with the representation of the Conte del Marraco at 8:00 PM. The Sant Anastasi program will end at night, when the Castell de Focs will put an end to the four days of celebration at 10:00 PM.
