The possible relationship between CF Borges Blanques and Atlètic Lleida has opened an internal dispute in the capital of Les Garrigues before the members' assembly scheduled for Monday, June 8. In several parts of the municipality, posters with the message "Atlètic Lleida is not Borges" have appeared to reject a potential agreement between both clubs.

The tension arises when there isn't even a single version of what is being negotiated. While the president of Borges, Jordi Macià, maintains that he sees "nothing negative" in the agreement, although it is "not yet closed," the president of Atlètic Lleida, Xavier Bartolo, denies that an affiliation agreement exists.

The posters call to vote against the agreement on Monday, June 8

The proclamation, also spread via WhatsApp, attacks the Cappont club and states that "it does not represent us" and that "Borges belongs to the people." The message calls on members to vote against the agreement at the assembly convened for next Monday, June 8.

That meeting will not only address the possible relationship with Atlètic Lleida. The board will also review the season's accounts, next season's budget, the situation of Borges B, and news from the first team.

Jordi Macià framed the appearance of the posters as a campaign initiated by people who are not in favor of Borges. The executive added that the club will send a statement to the members to explain the benefits and drawbacks of the possible agreement.

Bartolo denies affiliation and places the origin of the contact with the Borges board

Xavier Bartolo rejected that an affiliation agreement exists and maintained that it was the Borges board that contacted Atlètic Segre to ask for help in assembling the team. Furthermore, he stated that "someone wants to muddy the waters."

Atlètic Lleida's position comes after the Cappont club had an affiliation agreement with Alpicat last season. That link will not be renewed because the entity wants to strengthen its first team with players from Atlètic Segre.

In this scenario, Macià also left open one of the central issues of the assembly. The president of Borges indicated that they still need to assess if the agreement will be put to a vote by the members during the meeting on June 8.

The sporting context of Atlètic Lleida has also been marked by recent changes. Coach Iván Lara left the club's bench after a dispute with the former president of the Cappont entity, Josep María Oromí.

The assembly on Monday, June 8 will include the review of the season's accounts, the budget for the next season, the situation of Borges B, and news from the first team.
