The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a sexual assault against a young woman of about 20 years old that occurred early yesterday morning in the vicinity of the Lleida bus station. The alert came at 3:37 AM, when the victim was returning to her home after being sexually assaulted by an individual.
The case is being investigated with no arrests and an open question about the number of perpetrators, in a province that last year registered 253 complaints of sexual assault, an average of five per week. The Guardia Urbana arrested three men in Plaça del Dipòsit hours later
Hours later, in the morning, the Guardia Urbana intervened in another incident in the Barri Antic of Lleida. The action took place around 11:00 AM in Plaça del Dipòsit.
The officers arrested two men, aged 19 and 44, for property damage to a vehicle. In addition, they arrested a 53-year-old man for assault.
The police action in Plaça del Dipòsit occurred during a different time frame and in a different setting than the sexual assault being investigated near the bus station. Both incidents were under police intervention on the same day in the city.
