The Court of Lleida will judge this May 14 two defendants for crimes against public health in separate sessions. The Prosecutor's Office requests prison sentences for a woman for trafficking methamphetamine in Mollerussa and for a man for selling cocaine in the capital of Segrià.

The public prosecutor claims four years in prison and a fine of 200 euros for the first defendant. The agents seized the drug during a routine police operation in the town of Lleida.

The agent located the drug hidden in the underwear

The facts being investigated in the first case occurred on April 11, 2024. A patrol of the Mossos d'Esquadra intercepted the accused in Mollerussa and proceeded to identify her.

During the search, agents found 5.7 grams of methamphetamine hidden in the woman's bra. The estimated value of this substance on the illicit market amounted to 173 euros.

The instruction of the case has concluded and the oral trial is set for next week. The prosecution maintains that the seized quantity was intended for sale or distribution.

The second trial investigates a cocaine trafficking network

The same judicial session addresses the case of a male accused of trafficking cocaine in Lleida. Police investigations focused on his activity between March and June 2023.

The investigators searched their home and vehicle. In these proceedings, they found several packages with cocaine valued at 4,464 euros. They also seized more than 15,000 euros in cash and three precision scales.

The prosecutor requests four years in prison for this second defendant. The sentence could be replaced by expulsion from Spain for five years if a final conviction is issued.

Both processes are processed in the criminal section of the Provincial Court. The courts will determine the guilt of the accused after the presentation of the evidence proposed by the parties.
