The Lleida Local Police have arrested seven people in just 24 hours for various robberies and thefts committed in several parts of the city. Among those arrested are six men between 18 and 40 years old and one woman aged 45. The actions include alleged vehicle break-ins, attempted robberies with violence and intimidation, and the theft of public lighting cables.
Arrests for vehicle thefts and street assaults
One of the first interventions occurred during the early morning of the 28th on Rambla Aragón, where officers arrested a 23-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a theft with force inside vehicles. He is accused of having hit and broken the windows of two cars to steal objects from inside, in addition to causing damage to another vehicle.
Hours later, at 6:20 p.m., the Guardia Urbana arrested an 18-year-old youth on Joan Baget street, investigated for the alleged theft of a mobile phone. During the episode, he allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim with a sharp piece of glass.
Already around 10:00 PM on the same day, a 31-year-old man was arrested on Balmes Avenue for an alleged attempted violent robbery of two elderly people. Still under investigation, he is considered the alleged perpetrator of an attempted theft of both victims' purses.
The early morning of the 29th saw another arrest on Canyeret street. In this case, the Guardia Urbana arrested a 24-year-old man accused of having thrown to the ground and assaulted a person from whom he allegedly wanted to steal two mobile phones.
Another arrest for forcing a car in Templers
In another operation, officers arrested in Templers street a 31-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of forcing a vehicle with a metallic object. This intervention is added to those recorded on the same day marked by several property crimes in different neighborhoods and axes of the capital of Segrià.
Theft of wiring in eight lampposts
The list of arrests is completed with the arrest of a 40-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman on Jeroni Pujades street. Both are being investigated for the alleged extraction and theft of the wiring from eight public lighting lampposts in the city.
With these seven arrests made within a 24-hour period, the Guardia Urbana of Lleida has concentrated several actions against robberies and thefts in public spaces and vehicles, in a sequence of interventions spread across Rambla Aragón, Joan Baget, Balmes, Canyeret, Templers, and Jeroni Pujades.
