The early morning of Saturday to Sunday has left a trail of disorder in the roundabout of the C-14 for Sant Jordi. The Ponts town hall has reported the theft of 19 decorative roses that adorned this strategic road.
The value of the stolen pieces exceeds 2,000 euros. The council's security cameras captured images of the alleged perpetrators, identified as residents of the town.
Partial restitution and silence on the rest
The implicated individuals have returned nine of the nineteen stolen roses. Faced with this scenario, the mayor, Josep Tàpies, has explained that there is no information about the remaining material.
"we don't know anything and they assure us they haven't taken them"
The town hall formalized the complaint before the Mossos d"Esquadra after the partial restitution. The roundabout of the C-14 and the C-1412a usually acts as a tourist platform for the Ranxo gastronomic festival.
This space also hosts meetings or initiatives of the Segre-Rialb consortium. The full recovery of the festive decoration remains to be clarified through ongoing police investigations.
