The teachers' strike had a follow-up of 9.32% at 9:30 am in the regions of Ponent, Alt Pirineu i Aran and Central Catalonia, according to the Department of Education. The data was calculated with information from 31.55% of the centers on a day that also left traffic cuts on the A 2 at the height of Alcarràs and on the C 55 in Clariana de Cardener.
The mobilization corresponded to the third day of strike by territories called to demand improvements outside the agreement reached between the Government and CCOO and UGT. Civil servant teaching staff, interim civil servants, civil servants in training, and labor staff were called to strike, including the teaching staff, the Educational Support staff, and the Administration and Services staff of the three territorial services.
Also other groups were called, among them educational leisure staff, indirectly managed kindergartens and public centers of other ownerships. Education does not have data on the follow-up in those sectors.
Centers of Lleida and Tremp with follow-ups higher than the official data
Beyond the balance provided by the department, several consulted Lleida centers placed the strike between 40% and 75% of their staff. The Frederic Godàs, Enric Farreny, and Magí Morera schools in Lleida operated with minimum services.
At the Minerva school in Lleida, the follow-up was 60%. At the Valldeflors school in Tremp it reached 65%.
In Secondary, the Caparrella institute registered a 40% follow-up. The Torre Vicens institute also stood at 40%. The Guindàvols institute reached 65%.
Interruptions on the A 2 and the C 55 at first hour
Teachers gathered early in the morning in the area of the institutes of Lleida and then moved to a meeting point in Alcarràs. From there they headed to the A 2, where they cut the road in both directions with support from farmers.
Traffic was diverted in Soses in the direction of Lleida and in Alpicat in the direction of Zaragoza. At the same time, there was also a closure on the C 55 in Clariana de Cardener.
The protesters lifted both actions towards 10:00 hours. Afterwards they started a slow march towards Lleida.
Demonstration called at noon in Lleida
At 12:00 hours, a demonstration was scheduled in Lleida with departure from Ricard Viñes square. The protest gave continuity to a day of territorial mobilization focused on Ponent, the Alt Pirineu i Aran and Central Catalonia.
