Oliana hosts from today until Sunday the Enduro World Championship for the second consecutive year in the town of La Noguera. The event will bring together around 200 high-level riders. Among those registered are Josep Garcia, Steve Holcombe, Andrea Verona, Zach Pichon, and Brad Freeman. Josep Garcia competes as the reigning world champion and current championship leader. The local rider already won here last year and seeks to strengthen his lead in the EnduroGP and E1 categories.
Organization of the new club
The Moto Club Oliana assumes the organization directly. This club was founded just a month ago after the split of the local section of Moto Club Segre. It will be the first time this team manages a World Championship event without having previously organized lower-level competitions.
Trace Details
The route takes place entirely within the municipality of Oliana. The riders will cover approximately
54 kilometersdistributed in three laps. The circuit includes three timed special stages called Cross Test, Enduro Test and Xtrema.
Divisions and startup
The World Cup will feature various technical divisions. The classification includes the following main categories:
- E1, E2 and E3
- Junior, Youth and Women
- Open divided into 2T, 4T and Senior
The Open division is designed for riders who will complete fewer laps and has a more economically accessible entry fee. In parallel, a round of the Catalan Championship of the discipline will be held. The World Championship starts today at 8:00 PM with the Super Test. It is a show test prior to the main competition, consisting of a race with obstacles such as stones, logs, and sand mainly. The course is very short, lasting less than a minute. This format determines the starting order for the main race the following day.
