Lleida faces this weekend an abrupt meteorological shift in just 24 hours, with the transition from an almost summery atmosphere, close to 30 degrees, to another marked by rain, wind and snow in the Pyrenees. The situation will be noticeable throughout the province between Saturday and Sunday, within a weather change that will also reach a good part of Spain.

Saturday will begin the change with more clouds and first precipitations

The transition will begin on Saturday with an increase in cloudiness across the province of Lleida. During a good part of the day, temperatures will barely vary or will drop slightly compared to current values, although the atmosphere will remain mild.

Precipitation may appear sporadically, especially at the end of the day. In the Val d'Aran, in addition, possible snowfalls are expected at altitudes between 1,400 and 1,700 meters, in a first warning of the more pronounced change that will arrive a few hours later.

Sunday will arrive the front with persistent rains and clear drop of temperatures

The most marked worsening is expected for Sunday. The passage of a front will leave persistent rains throughout the day in Lleida and will cause a notable thermal drop. The contrast will be evident compared to the atmosphere of previous days.

In the Pyrenees, snow will gain prominence with a snow level located between 900 and 1,200 meters. On the Pyrenean north face, significant depths are expected, in an episode that could complicate conditions in mountain areas.

During Sunday, the presence of calima will also be probable, a phenomenon that could reduce visibility in different points of the province.

Next week points to a progressive recovery

From the beginning of next week, a gradual improvement in weather conditions is expected. Anticyclonic weather will once again prevail in most of Spain, although precipitation could still be recorded in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and the extreme north of the peninsula.

The general trend draws a progressive atmospheric stabilization and a gradual return to temperatures more typical of the season, after a weekend of strong contrast in Lleida.
