The 37th edition of the Lleida Puppet Fair has recovered the cloister of La Seu Vella as the main stage after the rehabilitation works that limited its use in 2025. This monumental space now hosts high-level international proposals, marking a milestone in the city's cultural programming.

The Italian company Bambabambin Puppet Theatre has premiered That Devil Harlequin, a family-friendly proposal that fuses Commedia Dell'Arte techniques with puppet theater. This performance joins the presence of The Horsemen, where French riders from Les Goulus have offered a demonstration of equestrian training within the same historic venue.

In the Plaza de los Apóstoles, the German company PasParTouT has staged Baby Elephant, expanding the artistic offerings of the event. The geographical diversity of the participants reflects the global reach of the Lleida event, which attracts creators from all over Europe.

Participatory Installations and Contemporary Circus

From yesterday to tomorrow, the Esteve Cuito square transforms into an interactive laboratory with two outstanding installations. Titeretú, created by Itinerània, presents six giant hands made of iron and wood where visitors solve balance and coordination games.

"Selfiematon is a handcrafted reinterpretation of the traditional photo booth that invites you to play with your image" - Maria Solà, participating artist

This work by Maria Solà seeks to distort digital immediacy through physical play. Meanwhile, the Municipal Theatre of l"Escorxador had to program Escorça, a contemporary circus piece by Marc Bosch aimed at a youth audience, thus completing the festival's scenic offering.

Technical Conferences and Professionalization of the Sector

The 18th Technical Conference have served as a meeting point for more than 450 accredited professionals. During last Thursday, speed meetings were held and yesterday, practical workshops took place at La Llotja, key spaces for knowledge exchange.

Among the presentations, projects such as El Testament, by Ramon Molins from Lérida of Zum Zum Teatro, stand out. The figure of the Critical Spectator is embodied this year by Fabrizio Montecchi, general secretary of Unima International, who offers private sessions with the scheduled companies.

"Montecchi offers scheduled companies the possibility to meet to convey his constructive criticism as an expert in the discipline" - Fair Organization

The second day of the festival was to conclude at the Café del Teatro with A Show with Strings by Long & Short Company. A musical session near midnight would close this edition, which consolidates Lleida as a European benchmark for the genre.
