La Paeria de Lleida will launch starting next Wednesday a new specific mechanism to process only applications for the vulnerability certificate, in an attempt to alleviate the congestion that now affects the municipal service offices.
The service will operate from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 14:00 hours, without prior appointment and outside the usual circuits of the OMAC and the OGAT. The council foresees strengthening this point with 10 new incorporations and six registration tables, with support from social services.
Offices saturated by the demand
The pressure on municipal attention has skyrocketed in recent weeks. The offices of the OMAC and the OGAT are collapsed and do not have available appointments for any day. In this context, eight out of ten attentions that are made in the OMAC correspond to the certificate of empadronamiento.

The City Council estimates that about 7,000 people can regularize their status in Lleida, a forecast that explains the increase in procedures linked to this process and the saturation of administrative assistance services.
Filter on the requests
The deputy mayor Carme Valls has warned that part of the requests that are being registered do not conform to the foreseen assumptions for this certificate.

In parallel, the Paeria has activated inspections with the Guardia Urbana to verify the real residence of those people about whom suspicions exist. The municipal objective passes through decongesting ordinary attention and concentrating in the new device a part of the demand that until now was blocking the daily functioning of the offices.
