More than 200 volunteers deployed their activity yesterday in the streets of Lleida to celebrate the Collection Day. The Association against Cancer installed twenty informative and fundraising tables at strategic points in the city.

Under the slogan When you stop, we move against cancer, the campaign seeks to finance free services and promote oncological research. The objective set by the entity is to reach a survival rate of 70 percent by the year 2030.

The collection makes unknown free services visible

Eva Figuera, manager of the Association against Cancer in Lleida, highlighted the importance of this day to bring the organization's work closer to citizens. She stressed that there are still people who are unaware of the available services.

"The Collection Day is fundamental to publicize the entity's activity and all the free services it offers, because there are still people who are unaware of them." - Eva Figuera, manager of the Association against Cancer in Lleida

The directive recalled that the association maintains an immense portfolio of individual and group services. These resources cover the entire province through in-person and remote modalities.

New workshops expand psychological care

The entity has launched a specific program for the months of April, May, and June. It includes workshops on mindfulness, sleep care, self-esteem, and general well-being.

An emotional support group exclusively for men with cancer has been created. Accompaniment sessions for patients' families have also been enabled.

Eva Figuera explained that the work is aimed at guaranteeing territorial equity. The goal is for any person to have access to the same quality of assistance regardless of their place of residence.

"We work so that, whether you live in Pallars or Segarra, you have access to the same portfolio of services." - Eva Figuera, manager of the Association against Cancer in Lleida

The legal-labor guidance service registers high demand. This increase responds to the rise in diagnoses in young patients who are of active working age.

The association positively valued the recent expansion of breast and colon cancer screenings. These preventive measures complement the direct care work offered by the organization.
