The court has sent to provisional communicated imprisonment without bail the two detainees for the death of a 22-year-old young man who fell on Sunday through the light well of an occupied apartment on Valentí Almirall street in Lleida. The measure was agreed this Wednesday by court 1 of the instruction section of the Court of First Instance of Lleida.
The victim plunged almost ten meters from the building, located on the third second of number 3 of this street. After the fall, she was evacuated in critical condition to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital, where she died a few hours later.
Open investigation for homicide, injuries and omission of the duty to render aid
The case has been opened for the crimes of homicide, injuries and failure to render aid. The investigation focuses on clarifying what happened inside the occupied apartment before the young man's fall.
The two arrested and the victim shared a room and lived together in the property. When the event occurred, both detainees were at the home.
Reconstruction of the events in the apartment on Valentí Almirall street
On Monday, the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Scientific Police carried out the reconstruction of the events in the apartment where the three resided, on the third second of number 3 of Valentí Almirall street. The proceedings seek to specify the sequence prior to the fall through the interior patio.
The initial alert was given by a neighbor of the block, who notified the police station of the Guardia Urbana after noticing the young man's fall. From that moment, the police intervention and the judicial investigation were activated, which has resulted in the imprisonment of the two suspects, while proceedings continue to be carried out to fully clarify what happened.
