Lleida yesterday gave the starting gun to the celebrations of the Festa Major de Sant Anastasi with a traditional route that recovered the prominence of festive figures in the historic center.
The Seguici of the Marraco paraded from the Cathedral square to the Paeria square. The procession included the Children's Group of the Diables de Lleida and the Kids of the Canalla dels Castellers de Lleida.
The Gegantons Berenguer i Violant also participated along with Lo Marraco. The music was provided by the timbalers of the Diables, the grallers of the Castellers, and the Colla Bastonera.
Children give pacifiers to the dragon
The act maintained the custom of the youngest offering pacifiers to the mythological figure. This interaction symbolizes the connection between local tradition and new generations during the journey.
The night shift moved the party to Sant Joan square. The group Bruixa Express offered a concert based on musical classics to close the programming of this first day.
