The Magic Line gathered yesterday a thousand participants between the march through L'Horta and the city of Lleida, in addition to the people who joined the initiative in the grounds of the hospital center of Almacelles and in Tremp.
The solidarity walk, organized by the Sant Joan de Déu hospital, took place with a 9.4 km route that crossed paths of the Rufea district, the Segre canalization and several streets around the hospital. The day combined physical activity and a festive atmosphere, with entertainment from batucada groups and different refreshment points along the itinerary.
Route between L'Horta and the hospital environment
The call had its main following among those registered in the Lleida march, although part of the participation also concentrated in the grounds of the Almacelles hospital center. To this edition were also added those who had joined the proposal last Thursday in Tremp.
The route took participants through some of the most recognizable spaces of the natural and urban environment near the capital of Segrià. The partida de Rufea and the canalization of the Segre were part of a route designed to maintain the popular character of the walk and facilitate participation.
More than a decade of solidarity trajectory
The Magic Line is an initiative that the Sant Joan de Déu hospital promotes for more than ten years. In this time it has consolidated as one of the solidarity events linked to the entity.
Since 2014, it has mobilized almost 200,000 people throughout the State and has raised 4 million euros for social and solidarity projects. The edition held yesterday in Lleida, Almacelles and Tremp is part of that trajectory, with a new day of citizen participation in support of this cause.
