Los Mossos d'Esquadra arrested on Friday afternoon two young people aged 18 and 22 for their alleged involvement in a violent robbery committed hours earlier on Juneda street, in the La Bordeta neighborhood of Lleida. The victim was an elderly woman, whom they accosted at the entrance of her home.
The assault occurred at noon, when two individuals approached the woman and pushed her to the ground. During the action, they intimidated her with a knife and stole her purse and a gold chain.
Found a few hours later
The investigation allowed the agents to locate the suspects around 17:30 on Friday. At the time of the arrest, the Mossos recovered the stolen belongings and also the knife allegedly used in the assault.
During the police action, the two young people offered resistance and one of the agents was slightly injured after receiving a blow.
Accused of several crimes
The arrested were investigated for an alleged crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, in addition to minor injuries, resistance and disobedience to authority. Also attributed to them are the injuries caused to the agent during the intervention.
The arrest closes, for now, a police operation that was resolved the same day of the events in La Bordeta, with the recovery of the stolen objects and of the bladed weapon that would have been used to intimidate the victim.
