The head of investigating court number 3 of Lleida has decreed provisional communicated imprisonment without bail for five of the eleven detainees in the police operation deployed on Tuesday against an alleged network dedicated to marijuana trafficking and the illegal possession of weapons. The other six arrested have been released on provisional liberty and must appear before the court every fifteen days.
An operation with searches in Lleida and Seròs
The device, led by the Mossos d'Esquadra, was carried out with seven entries and searches in properties and industrial warehouses in Lleida and Seròs. The judicial case investigates alleged crimes against public health, belonging to a criminal organization, illicit possession of weapons, and defrauding of electrical fluid.
During the operations, the agents intervened firearms, ammunition, cash and evidence related to the activity that is under investigation. The operation remains open in the judicial sphere, while the material seized in the searches is analyzed.
Actions in La Mariola and in L'Horta de Lleida
One of the relevant points of the operation was located in the Mariola neighborhood, in Lleida, where three arrests were made and a marijuana plantation was located in a basement. In that space, the Mossos found intensive cultivation systems and weapons.
Additionally, in L'Horta de Lleida four arrests occurred within the same operation. The rest of the actions were distributed among other properties and warehouses inspected by the police within the framework of an investigation focused on the alleged criminal structure.
The judicial resolution marks, for now, two distinct procedural situations among the arrested, while the investigation continues to determine the scope of the activity attributed to the group and the specific link of each of those involved.
