An expert report incorporated into Court number 4 of Lleida concludes that Vicente Javaloyes, former general director of Lleida Esportiu, did not appropriate or dispose of any amount of the club for his own benefit. After receiving that opinion, the judge has forwarded it to the Prosecutor's Office so that it may rule on the request for dismissal and archiving of the case filed by the former executive's defense.
The investigation revolves around the accusations made by the club president, Luis Pereira, and his deputy, Marc Torres. Both pointed to an alleged misappropriation of 73,000 euros and also attributed to Javaloyes the retention of income from the online sale of tickets and season tickets.
An open conflict since March 2024
The crisis broke out in March 2024, when Lleida announced Javaloyes' departure. Days later, the former general director appeared publicly to maintain that he had not resigned, but had been fired for loss of confidence. In that intervention, he assured he felt humiliated, said he had lost a friend, and attributed Pereira to being poorly advised.
Javaloyes also defended that he never received a single euro from the club and that he even contributed nearly 80,000 euros out of his own pocket. Later, he increased that figure and, through a private appraisal, claimed 185,375 euros from Lleida, considering that he had financed part of the entity's activity.
In that context, he also stated that he was willing to give up part of that amount to try to reach an agreement. At the same time, he announced legal actions for dismissal, insults, and slander, insisting that his only objective was for the truth to be known.
The City Council advances in the Camp d'Esports agreement
In parallel to the judicial case, the mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, has confirmed that the City Council is finalizing the details of the new agreement for the use of the Camp d Esports. Only one aspect of a fiscal nature remains to be resolved, he stated, while pointing out that the conversations with the blue entity are fluid and that the agreement is practically closed.
"Accompany, guarantee adequate facilities and facilitate agreements that allow for pooling efforts" - Fèlix Larrosa, mayor of Lleida
Larrosa also referred to the insolvency proceedings and made it clear that the final decision will not depend on the Paeria. Even so, he stressed that the institution is creating the conditions to favor a positive outcome and expressed his confidence that the club can overcome this setback once again.
Open discussions about the historical name and symbols
The mayor also addressed the situation of the name and historical symbols of UE Lleida registered by Atlètic Lleida. On this point, he explained that he has opened conversations to try to resolve the situation and that they will take the necessary time.
With the expert report already incorporated into the court and awaiting the Prosecutor's Office's decision on the dismissal of the case, the judicial front affecting Javaloyes now enters a new phase, while the Lleida football environment remains pending both the future of Lleida Esportiu and the institutional fit of Camp d Esports.
