The Cappont campus of the Universitat de Lleida (UdL) brought together more than 1,300 visitors during the celebration of the 23rd edition of the Technology Market. The event, under the slogan "Technology at the service of people," brought together student exhibitors from different educational levels and the general public from the province and La Franja.

About 200 students show their projects

The exhibition had the participation of about 200 student exhibitors from Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training. These young people presented their work to a wide audience that exceeded the historical average of the event.

Javi Badia, coordinator of the event, highlighted the pedagogical intention of the initiative. Its objective is to awaken technological and scientific vocations among the youngest.

"We want to bring the university closer to educational centers, so that their students know what options we have here on campus." - Javi Badia, coordinator of the Technology Market

Among the highlighted projects was the one presented by students from the Francesc Ribalta institute in Solsona. They developed an automated system for domestic greenhouses that integrates a servomotor to regulate light entry and a fan for cooling.

"We have created a free cooling system, designed for spaces like homes or server rooms." - Christian, a student at the Francesc Ribalta institute

Artificial intelligence and robotics workshops

The program included 32 practical workshops focused on disciplines such as artificial intelligence, robotics, programming, cybersecurity, sustainability, biology, and astronomy. These activities complemented the two main conferences of the event.

Cynthia Gálvez gave a session on immersive technologies and virtual reality. For his part, the science communicator Anicet Cosialls presented the conference Pop Physics. Both presentations sought to bring complex concepts closer to the attending audience.

The Technology Market has been held since 2004 with a consolidated track record in the city. Historical records indicate an average of 1,320 visitors and 188 exhibitors per edition.

The number of attendees this day approaches that historical average, although far from the records registered in recent editions. The year 2022 reached the maximum attendance with 2,578 visitors, while 2024 marked the peak of student participation with 350 exhibitors.
