A fire in a pile of mattresses located on the exterior of an industry of the LL 11, in Els Alamús, has forced to mobilize this Tuesday at midday the emergency services in the surroundings of Lleida.
The alert to 112 was received at 13:07 hours. From that moment, a device was activated with five units of the Bombers de la Generalitat to work on extinguishing the fire.
Joint work to isolate the affected material
The tasks have focused on extinguishing the fire reported in the mattress stockpile that was located outside the industrial facility. During the intervention, heavy machinery from the company itself has also collaborated, used to separate the burned material and facilitate the work of the emergency teams.
The operation has taken place at this point of the municipal district of Els Alamús, next to the LL 11, during a period of the day of special activity in the industrial area. The Firefighters have worked to control the combustion of the accumulated material and prevent the fire from spreading to other elements of the enclosure.
The incident has been focused on the exterior area of the industry, where the affected mattresses were concentrated, while the operation continued with the extinguishing and removal tasks of the burned material.
