Alba Capell has won the XIII edition of the Carrera de la Moixina in Olot. The eleven-year-old athlete crossed the finish line as the absolute female champion despite suffering a fracture during the course.
The young runner from Juneda completed the 10.3 kilometers of the circuit with a positive elevation gain of nearly 200 meters in a total time of 50 minutes and 4 seconds. Her performance was exceptional until misfortune interrupted her progress near the end.
A fall from one thousand three hundred meters from the end
It happened a mere 1,300 meters from the finish line. A fortuitous fall caused him a non-displaced radius fracture in his arm.
