Golmés will celebrate the Fiesta Mayor de Sant Salvador Votat from May 23 to 26 with a program that combines religious acts, music, popular culture, and family-friendly activities. The commemoration recalls the historic vow made by the municipality in the 18th century in the face of a bubonic plague epidemic.
The celebration thus maintains an origin linked to a historic health crisis, but this year it arrives with a lineup focused on festive and community activity. Among the planned events are a painting exhibition, a musical afternoon, a children's show, a choral concert, the opening speech, and the proclamation of the municipality's representative figures.
The festival will kick off on May 23 with painting and an afternoon event in the pavilion
The program will begin on Saturday, May 23, with the inauguration of the VII Exhibition of Female and Male Painters. The guest artist in this edition will be Dolors Carmona Segura.
On the same day, the Salvador Ezquerra Pavilion will host a musical afternoon with performances by Sonotone and Rumba Blanca. The day will thus concentrate the opening of the cultural program and one of the main musical events of the festive start.
May 24 will feature a children's show and a choral concert
A day later, on Sunday, May 24, the Centenario Park will be the stage for Dançons, a children's show performed by Carles Cuberes. The program reserves this slot for outdoor family activities.
Later, the El Casal Theater will host the Stabat Mater Choir of Mollerussa, directed by Dolors Ricart. The group will bring the repertoire "Cançons de Festa i Feina" to Golmés.
Ferran Aixalà's opening speech will coincide with the proclamation of pubilla and hereu
The day of Monday, May 25, will include one of the central blocks of the Fiesta Mayor. During the proclamation ceremony, Abril Mayoral Balañá will be named Pubilla 2026, accompanied by Xenia Vico Terrado and Mariona Córdoba Sol as ladies-in-waiting.
In the same ceremony, Joel Garcia Peiró will assume the role of Hereu, with Gilbert Visa Martin and Eloy Castro Lima as escorts. The Monday program also includes the official opening speech, which will be delivered by humorist and screenwriter Ferran Aixalà.
At the end of the day, the company Tandor & Patxón will present the family show Currídicum Vitae. Monday will thus concentrate the institutional acts and one of the stage performances of the program.
The procession and the Montgrins will close the Fiesta Mayor on May 26
Tuesday, May 26 will be reserved for the traditional acts of Sant Salvador Votat. The day will begin with the collection of the municipality's representative figures and will continue with the Solemn Mass and the procession in honor of Sant Salvador.
After the singing of the gozos, the Cobla Orquestra Internacional Montgrins will close the Fiesta Mayor with sardanas and concerts. The group will perform a traditional and modern repertoire after the liturgical acts of the last day.
