The residents of Preixens continued without telephone service and with a still limited internet connection several days after the breakdown registered on Friday, when a truck tore down the low-hanging telephone wiring over the road. The incident left several homes without service, damaged two houses, and also affected a municipal facility.

Technicians acted in the town hall

On Tuesday afternoon, technicians came to repair the internet connection, although the intervention focused solely on municipal dependencies. The mayor of Preixens, Joan Eroles, explained that the operators only worked at the town hall and that the rest of the affected residents remained without an effective solution.

"They didn't do anything to the rest of the affected neighbors" - Joan Eroles, mayor of Preixens

The company reported that some users had already recovered their telephone line during Tuesday afternoon. Even so, in the municipality, complaints continued about the lack of service and the limitation in internet connection in part of the affected homes.

The council demands a complete repair

The city council maintains the efforts to demand a complete repair of all services. The breakdown not only left several residents without communications, but also caused material damage after the pull of the cable.

Joan Eroles specified that the council will have to assume the restoration of the damaged facades and other damages caused by the tearing out of the wiring last Friday. The incident affected two houses and a municipal facility in the municipality.

"We will assume the damages and then we will claim them from the town hall's insurance" - Joan Eroles, mayor of Preixens

The cable was held by the neighbors

During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the wiring was cut and it was the neighbors themselves who left it tied to both sides of the street. The action allowed the removal of the lines from the road while a definitive intervention was awaited.

In parallel, the municipality continues to await the incident being completely resolved. The municipal claim remains open while the disruptions in part of the service continue and the city council prepares the repair of the material damages caused by the incident.
