Six fatal work accidents last year in Lleida
This new case once again places the focus on workplace accident rates in the demarcation. Last year, there were registered six fatal workplace accidents in the regions of Lleida. The cases occurred in Balaguer, Vallfogona, Les Borges Blanques, Lleida, Alpicat and Rosselló.
All of them were reported by the Mossos d"Esquadra as workplace accidents after the victims died at the scene of the incident or a few hours later.
In the first half of last year, 3,374 work accidents were reported in the Lleida regions. Of that total, 3,345 were minor, a figure that represented a reduction of 3.77%. In contrast, serious accidents increased by 15% to reach 23 cases, all of them of a traumatic nature.
The death of the worker from Acadèmia street raises concern in a context in which the most serious accidents maintain an upward trend in the demarcation.
