The Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the Universitat de Lleida brought together 165 people in the first edition of HackSalut, an event focused on health innovation that combined project challenges with a solidarity workshop for 3D-printed prosthetics.

The event united the presentation of health ideas and immediate practical application in the same space. While one part of the event was dedicated to awarding proposals developed by students, another ended with 10 functional hand prosthetics ready to be sent to countries that need them.

Thirty-five participants assembled 10 prosthetics at the event

The solidarity workshop brought together 35 people. During the activity, participants assembled functional 3D-printed hand prosthetics with recycled vegetable plastic filaments, elastic bands, and nylon threads.

Paula Aragonés, from the Ayúdame3D Foundation, the organizing entity of the workshop, explained that assembly can be done by anyone by following three steps to put all the pieces together.

The prosthetics manufactured at HackSalut will be sent to countries that need them, as part of an event held at the facilities of the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the UdL.

Pulso Firme won the statistical challenge and WorkApp received the innovative award

The event also recognized two projects that emerged from the university environment. The award for the statistical challenge went to Pulso Firme, a proposal created by UdL first-year Nursing students Lourdes Arnal, Javier Raluy, Esther Velez, Ainara Garcia, and Júlia Vilatella.

In addition, the award for the most innovative project went to WorkApp, an application developed by Marta Blanco, Rosa Llohis, Mireia Mallorquí, and Anna Vila.

HackSalut celebrated its first edition at the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the Universitat de Lleida with the attendance of 165 people.
