The Aplec del Caragol brings together this weekend at the Fira de Lleida venue about 17,000 people distributed in 124 groups in an edition marked by the heat and by a program that once again occupies some of the most recognizable spaces in the city.

The event maintains the appeal of a festival born in 1980 in the old poplar grove of the Segre River and which today brings together groups with members from three and even four generations, a leap that summarizes how a popular celebration has gone from informal origins to a large collective gathering in Lleida.

The day takes place at the Fira de Lleida with an agenda that combines traditional events and musical proposals. The program includes the floral offering to the statue of Manolo Calpe, a session of garrotins by Rumba de Zona and a mini-parade to the amphitheater of Camps Elisis.

Afterwards, the coffee concert and the performance by the Castellers de Lleida will take place, two of the events planned in an edition that once again extends the festive activity through different points of the venue and its immediate surroundings.

The festival was born in 1980 and now brings together four generations

The growth of the Aplec is also evident in the composition of the groups. Some already bring together families and participants from three or four generations, a continuity that has consolidated the event since its beginnings next to the Segre until its current format at the Fira.

In addition to the festive component, the organization faces a day with a forecast of high temperatures, a factor that coincides with the massive presence of attendees during a large part of the day at the Lleida venue.

The program maintains among its events the floral offering to the statue of Manolo Calpe and the mini-parade to the amphitheater of Camps Elisis, two references that connect the current edition with the most recognizable memory of the celebration.

This year's edition once again relies on a central participation figure, with about 17,000 people integrated into 124 groups within the Fira de Lleida venue.
