A man has been transferred this Saturday to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital after being assaulted with a bladed weapon in his home on the Agustins 3 street, in the Cappont neighborhood of Lleida. The victim presented injuries to his left forearm and the left side of his abdomen.

The action remained in the hands of the Mossos d'Esquadra, with the support of the Guardia Urbana, who took charge of the proceedings to clarify what happened and the alleged authorship of the aggression.

Assault in a home in Cappont

The attack occurred inside the home where the injured person was. After the aggression, the man was evacuated to Arnau de Vilanova to receive medical assistance. For now, no more data has emerged about the previous circumstances of the event.

The case once again places Cappont in the focus of several recent episodes linked to bladed weapons. At the end of March, another fight in an occupied flat on Quatre Pilans street, also in this neighborhood, ended with one of those involved stabbed and transferred to the same hospital.

Recent background in the city

In Lleida, the last arrest for a crime of injuries after an alleged assault with a bladed weapon occurred at the beginning of this month, on the 3rd. That day, the Guardia Urbana arrested an individual at the confluence of Maragall and Ramón y Cajal streets.

On that same day, the local police also arrested a 20-year-old man whom they caught when he was allegedly committing a knife-point robbery of a pedestrian on Boters street.

More than 3000 complaints and hundreds of weapons seized

The presence of bladed weapons in the capital of Segrià has motivated specific actions by the police forces. Within the framework of the joint operation Plan DAGA, Mossos and Guardia Urbana seized last year 396 bladed weapons, among them knives, penknives, and awls.

In parallel, 3,206 complaints related to this problem were received in the city. The investigation into Saturday's aggression remains open while agents try to clarify how the attack occurred in the home on Agustins street.
