A landslide of earth and rocks cut one of the lanes of the L 503 yesterday at noon as it passed through La Torre de Capdella, which forced traffic to be regulated with alternating passage for a good part of the afternoon. The incident was resolved around 7:00 p.m., when traffic returned to normal.
The alert was given to 112 at noon. The Bombers (Firefighters) moved to the site, while an excavator worked to remove the obstacles accumulated on the road. During that interval, between 12:00 and 19:00, vehicles had to circulate alternately on the affected stretch.
Previous rains in the area
The mayor, Josep Maria Dalmau, attributed the episode to the weather of the last few days.

The cleaning and securing tasks of the road fell to technical personnel from Highways. From the municipality they specified that it was these technicians who cleaned the road and guaranteed the passage of vehicles while traffic regulation was maintained.
The hillside remains under review
Once the detached material was removed, the road was signposted pending a more detailed evaluation of the slope. The objective is to determine the severity of the damage to the hillside from which the stones detached and to adopt measures that reduce the risk of new falls.
The operation allowed the affected lane to be fully reopened at 7:00 PM, although the area will remain under observation while the condition of the ground is studied after several days of rain.
