A fire declared in the early hours in a shared apartment on Ciutat de Tàrrega street, in Lleida, has left two people injured and a 39-year-old man arrested as the alleged perpetrator of having started the fire inside the dwelling.
The alert is placed around 2:40 a.m. this Wednesday in a home where five people lived together. The main affectation was concentrated inside the apartment, where the flames began and where they later spread through different rooms.
A cohabitant of the home arrested
The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested one of the tenants, 39 years old, after placing him under investigation as alleged responsible for having started the fire. The police maintain that the man would have set fire to the apartment's sofa, which caused the subsequent spread of the flames throughout the interior of the house.
The detainee shared the home with four other people. Awaiting the progress of the investigation, the Mossos attribute to him two crimes of injury and one crime of arson.
Two injured transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova
As a consequence of the fire, two tenants were injured. Both were evacuated to the Hospital Arnau de Vilanova de Lleida to receive medical attention.
The provisional balance of this operation leaves two injured, one detained, and without structural damage to the building. The material damage was limited to the floor where the fire originated.
No damage to the structure of the property
The fire has not caused structural damage to the property, although it did significantly affect the interior of the shared home.
